The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has commended police officers nationwide for their dedication and effectiveness following the arrest of 1,774 suspects involved in various criminal activities across the country.
Addressing senior police officials during a strategic security meeting in Abuja, the IGP praised the officers’ commitment to restoring law and order, emphasizing the importance of sustained vigilance and community engagement.
“These arrests reflect our resolve to combat crime and ensure the safety of every Nigerian,” the IGP stated. “Our officers are working tirelessly to dismantle criminal networks and bring offenders to justice.”
The suspects were apprehended on charges ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, and cybercrime to drug trafficking and other security threats. The IGP reiterated the police force’s zero-tolerance stance against criminality and vowed to enhance operational efficiency through improved training and intelligence-led policing.
