The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, has commended the Ministry of Police Affairs for its recent donation of seven Modified Light Tactical Armoured Vehicles (LTAVs) to the Nigeria Police Force. The handover ceremony took place on May 28, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, highlighted that the vehicles were procured from the Ministry’s 2024 operational budget and designed specifically to meet Nigeria’s terrain and climate. He emphasized that the LTAVs would enhance police operational capacity and officer safety, especially in volatile regions.
In response, the IGP expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the timely intervention, noting that the armoured vehicles would significantly improve police response efforts across the country. He assured that the vehicles would be deployed strategically to boost public security and confidence in the police force.
