The Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security and youth development through a courtesy visit to the A’ Division Police Headquarters in Ilorin. During the visit, which took place on Monday, July 15, 2025, Hon. Podo met with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Salihu Muhammed and newly recruited police officers from Ilorin South who are currently undergoing training ahead of their passing out parade.

Addressing the recruits, Hon. Podo expressed his pride and encouragement, urging them to embrace discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of duty in their pursuit of a career in law enforcement. He noted that the decision to serve the nation through the police force is both noble and demanding, requiring integrity, courage, and unwavering dedication to public service.



“You have chosen a path that requires selflessness and honor. Remain focused and let the values of service to humanity guide your actions,” the chairman said, assuring them of continued local government support throughout their careers.
In response, ACP Salihu Muhammed lauded the chairman’s visit, describing it as a commendable gesture that boosts the morale of the officers in training. He praised Hon. Podo’s administration for its consistent support towards peace and security efforts in the council area and encouraged the trainees to uphold the ethics of the Nigeria Police Force with professionalism and patriotism.
The police recruits, visibly elated by the visit, offered prayers for the council chairman and expressed gratitude for his encouragement and leadership. They described the visit as a motivational boost and an affirmation of the chairman’s commitment to youth empowerment and security development.
