Ilorin South LG Chairman Unveils New Executive Council Members, Emphasizes Grassroots Development

Ilorin, July 7, 2025 — In a decisive move to bolster local governance and enhance grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Council, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, has unveiled the list of newly appointed Executive Council Members.

The appointments, which took effect from Monday, July 7, 2025, are aimed at promoting inclusive leadership, youth participation, and equitable ward representation across the local government area.

The newly appointed council members include:

  1. Mohammed Hameed – Secretary (Akanbi Ward IV)
  2. Suleiman Monsura – Supervising Councillor (Okaka Ward II)
  3. Adewuyi Stephen Omotayo – Supervising Councillor (Akanbi Ward V)
  4. Saidu Aliyu – Supervising Councillor (Oke-Ogun)
  5. Abdulateef Yusuf Olarewaju – Supervising Councillor (Akanbi Ward IV)

Speaking at the announcement, Hon. Podo charged the newly appointed officials to serve with integrity and dedication, noting that their selection reflects a commitment to balanced representation and effective service delivery.

“This administration is focused on building a responsive and people-oriented council that meets the aspirations of our constituents. I urge the new appointees to be exemplary in conduct and committed to the overall development of Ilorin South,” the chairman stated.
