International Breweries Strengthens Commitment to Sustainable Water Stewardship

International Breweries Plc (IBPLC), part of the AB InBev Group, has reaffirmed its strong commitment to sustainable water management through a series of impactful initiatives marking World Water Day 2025. The company showcased its dedication to responsible water stewardship across its four breweries, emphasizing innovative conservation efforts and community engagement.

Carlos Coutiño, Managing Director of IBPLC, highlighted the vital role of water in both brewing and human life, stressing the company’s deliberate efforts to conserve this precious resource while minimizing environmental impact. Brewery tours held at the Gateway Brewery in Ogun State and the Port Harcourt facility demonstrated advanced water recovery and conservation systems, earning commendations from government officials and environmental stakeholders.

In addition to operational excellence, IBPLC has extended its water stewardship beyond its facilities by donating solar-powered boreholes to underserved communities in Ogun, Rivers, Anambra, and Osun states. The recent donation to Logbara community in Ogun State exemplifies the company’s commitment to improving access to clean water as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Internally, IBPLC engaged employees through townhall sessions to promote awareness and advocacy for sustainable water practices, reinforcing a culture of environmental responsibility.

Aligned with AB InBev’s 2025 sustainability goals, International Breweries continues to lead in water conservation, efficiency, and community support—demonstrating a holistic approach to safeguarding water resources for future generations while maintaining excellence in brewing.
