Iran’s Gen. Mousavi Declares Defensive and Offensive Military Strength Irreversible

Tehran — Iranian Chief of Staff Major‑General Abdolrahim Mousavi has affirmed that the country’s armed forces will continue to upgrade both their defensive and offensive capacities, insisting such progress cannot be halted. Speaking during a recent inspection of the IRGC Ground Force headquarters in Tehran, Mousavi said that the readiness of Iran’s military has now reached a level that deters would‑be aggressors from even considering miscalculations or launching fresh invasions.

He emphasized that Iran’s heightened combat preparedness ensures the protection of its independence, security, and territorial integrity. Notably, he referenced past conflicts — including the protracted war with Iraq (1980‑1988) and the 12‑day war of June provoked by Israeli‑US strikes — as proof of lessons learned and capabilities refined.

Mousavi also lauded the defence industry’s recent strides, highlighting indigenous advancements in weapons systems, equipment, and missile technology. He said these developments, many of which were demonstrated during the recent confrontation, reflect Iran’s self‑reliance, scientific know‑how, and firmness in the face of external pressure.

Concluding, the general made clear that Iran regards any threats from outside powers with firm resolve. He pledged that should any aggression occur, the response would be stronger than before. He described the strategy of boosting both deterrence and military capability as not only necessary but permanent, tied to the country’s long‑term security posture.
