Sanaa, Yemen | August 25, 2025
Israeli airstrikes struck Yemen’s capital Sanaa late on Sunday, killing at least two people and injuring 35 others, according to officials from the Houthi-controlled health ministry.
AFP images from the scene showed a fireball lighting up the night sky and thick black smoke billowing over the rebel-held city. A Houthi security source said the attack targeted a building in central Sanaa, while the group’s Al-Masirah TV reported the strike hit an oil company facility.
The incident follows months of escalating cross-border attacks, with the Iran-backed Houthis repeatedly launching drones and missiles at Israel during the Gaza war. Israeli authorities have yet to issue a statement on the latest strike.
