The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has officially accepted the resignation of his Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, Major General Muhammad Idris (retd.).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, expressed profound gratitude for Idris’ contributions, particularly in establishing the newly created ministry.

Governor Acknowledges Idris’ Service to Kano
While no reason was provided for the commissioner’s resignation, Governor Yusuf praised him as a dedicated public servant and a patriotic Nigerian.

“We thank Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (retd.) for his unwavering commitment to the development of Kano State, dating back to his distinguished military career. We wish him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement,” Yusuf stated.

Laying the Foundation for a New Ministry
Despite his short tenure, Idris is credited with laying the groundwork for the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services. Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that his successor would build on this foundation to strengthen the ministry’s operations.

With Idris’ departure, all eyes are now on the Kano State Government to see who will take over the crucial role of managing the state’s internal security affairs.
