Kano NSCDC Commandant Orders 24-Hour Patrol on Critical Infrastructure

Kano, Nigeria | Tuesday, September 16, 2025

The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Bala Bawa-Bodinga, has ordered 24-hour patrols and surveillance on critical national assets and infrastructure across the state’s 44 local government areas.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, shortly after Bawa-Bodinga officially assumed office in Kano.
Upon resumption, the commandant urged officers and men of the Corps to rededicate themselves to safeguarding essential installations and curbing acts of vandalism. He emphasized that protecting national infrastructure remained central to the NSCDC’s mandate.
Bawa-Bodinga, born on February 7, 1973, holds a degree in Hausa Language from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He previously served in several senior roles within the NSCDC, including Commandant in Jigawa State and postings in anti-vandalism and critical assets departments.
While the patrol order underscores renewed efforts to enhance security, details of deployment logistics and implementation strategies have not yet been disclosed.
