In a shocking turn of events, the Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 14-year-old girl for allegedly staging her own abduction and masterminding the kidnap of her four-year-old sister in a calculated attempt to extort ₦50 million from their father.
The police disclosed that the teenage suspect connived with others in a desperate bid to obtain a ransom from her father, claiming both she and her younger sibling had been kidnapped. Authorities were alerted after the father received a disturbing ransom demand and promptly reported the incident.
Upon investigation, security operatives tracked the phone used to make the call and discovered the location where the girls were being held. To their astonishment, the teenager was found safe and unhurt, along with her sister, in what turned out to be a fabricated abduction.
Spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect is currently in custody and cooperating with investigators.
