Kogi East APC Chairman, Suleiman Omika, Dies Suddenly

The Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Suleiman Omika, has passed away. Omika, who took over as zonal chairman a few months ago, died suddenly on Friday, leaving his family, friends, and party members in shock.

According to reports, Omika was resting in his Lokoja compound when he began calling for help due to loss of strength and died instantly. His death was confirmed by the state chairman, Abdullahi Bello, who received the news from Deputy Governor Joel Salifu.

Tributes and Condolences

Deputy Governor Joel Salifu’s Eulogy: Described Omika as “a gentleman who served the party diligently, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the APC in the zone”.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Condolences: Praised Omika as a man of peace, humility, and dedication to public service, whose leadership was widely respected.

Kogi ALGON Chairman’s Tribute: Hon. Tosin Olokun expressed deep sorrow over Omika’s passing, describing him as a dedicated and committed leader who contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the APC in Kogi East.

Omika, born on October 1, 1980, in Oduh Ogboyaga, Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, was 45 years old at the time of his death. He was laid to rest according to Islamic rites. The APC and the people of Kogi East are mourning the loss of a respected leader who played a significant role in shaping the party’s fortunes in the region.
