Lagos Government and Firms Launch Paid Internship Programme for OND Holders Starting October

Lagos, August 11, 2025

The Lagos State Government, in partnership with private sector firms, has unveiled a new paid internship programme targeted at Ordinary National Diploma (OND) holders, set to commence in October 2025.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic training and practical work experience, providing young graduates with opportunities to develop essential skills and enhance their employability. Participants will receive monthly stipends during the internship period, ensuring financial support as they gain on-the-job training across various industries.

Officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development highlighted that the programme is part of broader efforts to tackle youth unemployment and stimulate economic inclusion. Collaborating companies span sectors such as finance, technology, manufacturing, and services, offering diverse roles tailored to interns’ areas of study.

The Lagos State government encouraged eligible OND holders to apply promptly, stressing that the internship would not only equip them with valuable work experience but also create pathways to permanent employment. The programme reflects a commitment to empowering youth and strengthening the state’s workforce capacity.
