Lagos Governor Installs New Ayobo – Ipaja LCDA Chairman Following Predecessor’s Demise

In a significant development for local governance in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has formally sworn in Mr. Ladi Oluwaloni as the new chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA. The installation ceremony, which took place on Thursday at the State Government House, follows the unfortunate passing of the previous chairperson, Ms. Bolatito Shobowale, creating a leadership vacuum in the rapidly developing local council.
During the ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu charged the incoming chairman to prioritize grassroots development initiatives that align with his administration’s broader vision for Lagos State. The Governor expressed confidence in Oluwaloni’s capabilities to drive meaningful progress in the council area.
“The work at the local government level is critical to our overall development agenda for Lagos,” Governor Sanwo-Olu remarked during the ceremony. “I trust that Chairman Oluwaloni will continue to advance our collective vision for community development.”
In his acceptance speech, the newly installed chairman pledged unwavering commitment to upholding good governance principles as outlined in the state’s THEMES+ Agenda the administration’s strategic development framework.
“I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to serve and lead Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA,” Oluwaloni stated, acknowledging the significant responsibility placed upon him.
Oluwaloni has already initiated developmental projects within the council area, including the recent donation of an ambulance to a local primary health center that had operated without emergency transport services since its establishment.
The new chairman also disclosed plans to commission several road projects within the next fortnight, demonstrating his commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits in the area.
“With the support of Mr. Governor and our great party, I will bring development closer to our communities,” Oluwaloni assured, outlining his administration’s focus on improving healthcare delivery, educational facilities, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment initiatives.
Political observers note that Oluwaloni’s appointment represents continuity in local governance while introducing fresh leadership to advance community-centered development in one of Lagos’ growing council areas.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by various state officials, party leaders, and community representatives from Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, underscoring the importance of local government administration in Lagos State’s governance structure.
