Lagos, Nigeria — August 15, 2025 | The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District V has commenced a four-day familiarisation tour of Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) under her jurisdiction, aimed at boosting healthcare delivery and deepening collaboration with community health facilities.
The tour, which kicked off today, will cover health centres, general hospitals, and other medical institutions across the district. It will enable the Permanent Secretary to assess infrastructure, review service delivery, and interact directly with healthcare workers and community leaders.
Speaking at the start of the visit, she reaffirmed that the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to strengthening public health services through regular monitoring, needs assessment, and strategic partnerships with local councils.
She added that insights gathered during the tour will inform targeted interventions to tackle issues such as manpower shortages, equipment deficits, and low community health awareness.
The familiarisation visit will run until Friday, with each day dedicated to different LGAs and LCDAs for comprehensive stakeholder engagement.
