Lagos PDP factions unite, pledge to defeat APC.

The reconciliation meeting took place at the residence of Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, the first Chairman of the party in Lagos and the current Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee. Prominent members in attendance included former Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George, former Minister of Cooperation and Integration Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, former BoT member Mrs. Aduke Maina, state Chairman Mr. Philip Aivoji, Captain Tunji Shelle (retd), Alhaji Ramoni Owokoniran, Dr. Niran Adeniji, and other members of the Reconciliation Committee and State Exco.

In a communique issued after the meeting, the leaders vowed to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. The communique stated, “The meeting also resolved that the status quo in the party remains. All members must unite. Party members across the 20 local government areas in the state must mobilize Lagosians to wrest power from the APC in 2027.”

The communique also warned members working for the APC underground to stop or leave the PDP immediately, emphasizing that anti-party activities would no longer be tolerated. “APC has really disappointed Nigerians and must be voted out in 2027,” the communique added.

The reconciliation meeting marks a significant step towards unity within the Lagos PDP, as the party aims to strengthen its position and mobilize support ahead of the 2027 elections. The leaders emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among party members to achieve their goal of defeating the APC and bringing about positive change for Lagosians. The party’s commitment to addressing internal issues and fostering a united front demonstrates their determination to present a formidable challenge to the ruling party in the upcoming elections.
