Lagos State Government Honors LASU’s Best Graduating Student with N10 Million Award

In a gesture of recognition and appreciation for academic excellence, the Lagos State Government has awarded Nwosu Isioma Sybil, the overall best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2023/2024 academic session, with a sum of N10 million.

This generous award is a testament to the state’s commitment to rewarding and encouraging outstanding achievements in education.

Isioma Sybil Nwosu, who graduated with a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.93 from the Department of Biochemistry, has been celebrated for her academic prowess and resilience.

Her journey to becoming LASU’s top student was marked by challenges, including initial disappointment when she missed admission to study Medicine at the University of Ibadan.

However, she found her calling in Biochemistry at LASU, where she not only excelled academically but also demonstrated leadership skills as the 33rd Speaker of the Department of Biochemistry.

The award from the Lagos State Government reflects the state’s emphasis on education and its desire to motivate students to strive for excellence.

It also highlights the government’s support for institutions like LASU, which has been recognized for producing market-ready graduates equipped to contribute significantly both nationally and globally.

This gesture is expected to inspire other students to pursue academic excellence and reinforce the state’s commitment to fostering a culture of achievement and innovation.
