LASG Postpones 2025 Public Service Examinations

The Lagos State Government has announced the postponement of the 2025 edition of the Public Service Examinations, originally scheduled to hold later this month. The decision was disclosed in an official circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service and made available to the public on Monday.

According to the statement, the shift in date was necessitated by administrative and logistical considerations aimed at ensuring a seamless and inclusive examination process for all eligible civil servants.

“This decision was taken in the overall interest of the candidates and to guarantee that no officer is disenfranchised due to unforeseen challenges,” the circular stated. “A new date will be communicated in due course, and we urge all concerned officers to remain calm and continue with their preparations.”

The Public Service Examinations are a crucial part of career progression in the Lagos State Civil Service, serving as a benchmark for promotions, transfers, and advancement within the administrative structure. The examination evaluates officers’ knowledge of public service rules, policies, and general administrative competence.

Reacting to the announcement, some civil servants expressed relief, citing the need for more time to adequately prepare, while others called for a transparent rescheduling process to avoid further disruptions.

The Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, reassured all ministries, departments, and agencies that the postponement will not affect the broader calendar of service operations or ongoing human resource development programmes across the state.

Further updates, including the rescheduled date and logistical guidelines, are expected to be published through official government communication channels.
