LASRO Boss, Dr. Folayinka Dania, Leads Team on Working Visit to Lagos Transportation Commissioner

The Chief Resilience Officer of the Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO), Dr. Folayinka Dania, on Friday, led her team on a working visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Seun Osiyemi, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between key government agencies in promoting sustainable development across Lagos.

During the visit, Dr. Dania reiterated LASRO’s commitment to fostering resilience across critical sectors of the state, noting that effective transportation management remains pivotal to building a city capable of withstanding shocks and stresses. She emphasized the importance of integrated planning, particularly in the face of rapid urbanization, climate change, and other emerging challenges confronting Lagos.

Welcoming the LASRO delegation, Commissioner Osiyemi expressed appreciation for the strategic partnership, describing resilience as an essential pillar for achieving the state’s transportation masterplan. He noted that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration places high priority on improving mobility, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing the overall commuter experience through innovative and resilient infrastructure solutions.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both offices to discuss key areas of synergy, including strengthening the resilience of transport systems, improving emergency response mechanisms, and promoting policies that ensure sustainability and inclusivity in urban mobility planning.

Also present at the meeting were senior officials from the Ministry of Transportation and representatives of LASRO, who underscored the need for continuous dialogue and joint action in the face of Lagos’s dynamic and often challenging urban landscape.

The working visit is part of LASRO’s broader engagement with critical stakeholders across the state, aimed at embedding resilience thinking into government operations, infrastructure projects, and service delivery, in line with global best practices.
