Lagos, June 20, 2025 – The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) has commenced the third and most rigorous phase of its Fellowship selection process, the Leadership Evaluation Hub (LEH), as it seeks to identify and prepare the next cohort of transformative public sector leaders in Nigeria.
The LEH, currently underway in Lagos, is a merit-based assessment platform that brings together shortlisted candidates from across the country for a series of intensive evaluations. The exercise is designed to test their leadership capacity, teamwork, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and commitment to public service.
As part of its 2025/2026 Fellowship recruitment, the Academy has maintained a high standard of transparency and excellence in its selection criteria, positioning the programme as one of Nigeria’s most prestigious grooming grounds for young public service professionals.
Officials from the Academy noted that the LEH is not merely a test, but a holistic leadership immersion experience tailored to identify individuals with both competence and character. Participants are exposed to real-life governance scenarios, team challenges, and reflective sessions that underscore the ethical demands of public service.
“The Leadership Evaluation Hub embodies our core values, integrity, accountability, and visionary thinking. We are not just selecting fellows; we are investing in Nigeria’s future,” an LJLA coordinator stated.
Now in its third cohort cycle, the LJLA Fellowship continues to attract some of the brightest and most passionate minds from across Nigeria. The programme aims to equip successful candidates with the tools, mentorship, and practical exposure needed to lead innovative reforms within government institutions.
Participants who advance beyond the LEH will proceed to the final selection stage, after which successful fellows will begin a structured one-year leadership experience embedded within key public sector agencies.
The ongoing exercise has drawn commendation from civic groups and alumni of the academy, who describe the initiative as a vital pipeline for rebuilding trust, capacity, and excellence in Nigeria’s public governance space.
