LSCCM Hosts Colourful 2025 Children’s Get-Together to Celebrate Youth and Family Values

LAGOS, NIGERIA — The Lagos State Council for Child Mentorship (LSCCM) over the weekend hosted the 2025 edition of its annual Children’s Get-Together, bringing together hundreds of children, parents, and community stakeholders in a colourful celebration aimed at promoting child welfare, talent development, and family bonding.

Held at the LSCCM grounds in Alausa, Ikeja, the event featured a variety of fun and educational activities, including games, cultural displays, music, interactive workshops, and mentorship sessions—all tailored to inspire young minds and build a sense of community.

Addressing attendees, the Director of LSCCM, Mrs. Abiola Adeniran, said the get-together was not just a celebration, but a deliberate effort to engage children in meaningful social experiences that reinforce good morals, self-esteem, and resilience.

“In a world where distractions and negative influences abound, we must create safe, uplifting spaces where children feel valued, heard, and inspired to become better versions of themselves,” she stated.

She added that the 2025 edition of the event was particularly significant as it aligned with the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to inclusive youth development and the protection of child rights.

The event drew participation from schools, community-based organisations, and notable child advocates, with performances by young talents showcasing drama, poetry, dance, and creative art displays that reflected Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and the aspirations of its youth.

In his goodwill message, a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development commended the LSCCM for sustaining the tradition of hosting the annual gathering, describing it as a strategic investment in the state’s future leaders. He further called on corporate and religious organisations to support similar initiatives that promote child education, safety, and social integration.

Children who participated received various gifts and awards for excellence in creativity, discipline, and group participation, while parents praised the council for its commitment to nurturing the next generation through structured mentorship and community engagement.

The LSCCM Children’s Get-Together remains a flagship event, fostering joy, knowledge-sharing, and the holistic development of children across the state.
