MainPower Attributes Enugu Blackout to Technical Faults

MainPower, the electricity distribution company serving Enugu and surrounding areas, has attributed the recent power outage in parts of the state to technical glitches within its network.

In a statement issued on Monday, the company explained that the blackout, which began over the weekend, was caused by unforeseen faults in its transmission and distribution systems. MainPower assured residents that its engineers were working round the clock to restore electricity, with repairs already underway at the affected substations.

The firm apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused, emphasising its commitment to providing reliable power supply. It also urged residents to exercise caution during the outage and to promptly report any safety concerns or unusual activity around electrical installations.

While no exact restoration time was provided, MainPower said updates would be communicated as soon as repair works progressed, reaffirming its determination to stabilise power delivery in Enugu.
