Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will consult a specialist after suffering an ankle injury during Sunday’s FA Cup win against Bournemouth. Despite the injury, the club expects Haaland to return to play before the end of the season.
Haaland, 24, was substituted in the 61st minute after scoring the equalizing goal, which helped City secure a 2-1 victory and advance to the semi-finals. He was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches with his left ankle in a protective boot.
City announced on Monday that Haaland underwent tests, which revealed the need for further evaluation by a specialist to determine the full extent of the injury. The club is optimistic that Haaland will be fit to play in the remainder of the season, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
Haaland has had an impressive season, scoring 30 goals in 40 games. His injury is a concern for City, who are struggling in the Premier League and have been eliminated from the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
