Minister Idris Attends Progressive Governors’ Forum Meeting with APC Information Commissioners in Minna

July 10, 2025 | Minna, Niger State — The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Wednesday, participated in the quarterly meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum with Commissioners for Information from All Progressives Congress (APC)-led states, held in Minna, Niger State.

The strategic meeting brought together key communication officers and state officials from APC-controlled states to discuss coordinated approaches to public communication, policy advocacy, and national orientation strategies.

In his address, Minister Idris emphasized the importance of effective information dissemination and the role of state information commissioners in supporting the reform agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He called for stronger synergy between federal and state communication structures to ensure unified messaging on government initiatives and policies.

“The task of nation-building requires not just policy but consistent, truthful, and strategic communication. Our people must hear and understand the progress being made, especially in these reform-driven times,” Idris said.

He also commended the forum for its commitment to information-sharing and capacity-building, urging the commissioners to leverage the opportunity to enhance public engagement and deepen citizens’ trust.

The meeting featured interactive sessions on media strategy, digital communication, public enlightenment, and handling misinformation, with a collective resolve to improve communication channels between government and the public.

The Progressive Governors Forum continues to serve as a policy coordination platform for APC governors and their aides to align developmental strategies across party-led states.
