The meeting, which held at the Federal Ministry of Environment headquarters, brought together key stakeholders including renowned energy expert Dr. Layi Fatona, former NLNG Managing Director Tony Atta, and environmental scholar Prof. Zabbey.

Discussions centred around Nigeria’s energy transition plan, environmental resilience strategies, and joint initiatives to promote clean energy, carbon emission reduction, and capacity building.

Minister Balarabe Abbas reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to climate-smart solutions and expressed optimism about public-private partnerships that align with the country’s green development agenda. “The Ministry welcomes innovative collaborations like this that can help Nigeria meet its climate goals and deliver clean, reliable energy to millions,” he said.

The session concluded with a shared commitment to develop actionable frameworks and pilot projects that will impact local communities and contribute to Nigeria’s broader environmental and energy targets.
