In a separate case, the Ministry’s rescue team responded to a tip-off regarding a four-year-old boy (name withheld) who had suffered severe abuse at the hands of his father in Igboko, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area. The boy has been placed under the Ministry’s protective custody, where he is undergoing comprehensive medical treatment and psychological support.
Commissioner Adeleye stated, “The alleged perpetrator is in police custody, and legal measures are in progress to ensure justice prevails. The child’s condition is stable, and he is responding positively to medical care as further evaluations are conducted.”
The Commissioner reiterated the need for public cooperation in combating gender-based violence, child abuse, and other harmful practices that impede the well-being of women and children.
