An Indian student’s extraordinary travel story has captured global attention after he missed his scheduled flight to London but still managed to arrive on time through a series of fortunate events now being dubbed a “miracle journey.”

The student, identified as Arjun Mehta, had planned to board a connecting international flight from New Delhi to London for his postgraduate studies. However, due to a traffic jam on the way to the airport, he arrived minutes after the boarding gate closed.

“I was devastated,” Arjun told local media. “I thought my dreams were over before they began.”

But fortune took an unexpected turn. Airline officials noticed that another passenger failed to show up for the final boarding call. With his visa and academic documents in hand, Arjun was allowed on standby and miraculously filled the last seat.

The flight crew, aware of his situation, reportedly cheered him on as he boarded.

The story gained traction after a fellow passenger posted about the incident on social media, praising the airline’s compassion and the student’s resilience. Within 24 hours, the post garnered over 2 million views on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, with users calling it “a modern-day miracle” and “destiny in motion.”

Arjun has since arrived safely in London and is set to begin his master’s program in data science.

“I’m just grateful,” he said. “I missed my flight, but I didn’t miss my destiny.”

The airline has not publicly commented but sources say the company is reviewing internal policies to accommodate such last-minute scenarios more compassionately.
