The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go beyond issuing a posthumous pardon and initiate a formal inquiry aimed at exonerating the late environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa and other Ogoni 9 members.
MOSOP emphasized that while a presidential pardon may be symbolic, it does not erase the judicial stain nor deliver the justice long sought by the Ogoni people. The group insisted that only a transparent and independent inquiry can formally clear their names and acknowledge the injustices of their execution under the Abacha regime.
This renewed call comes amid ongoing national conversations about reconciliation and historical justice.
