Muslim Congress Decries Katsina Mosque Massacre, Applauds Security Agencies for Arrest of Terror Suspects

The Muslim Congress (TMC) has strongly condemned the recent massacre of worshippers at a mosque in Katsina State, describing the act as a cruel violation of human dignity and a desecration of Islamic sanctity. The Islamic organisation expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives during the brutal attack, which saw armed assailants storm a mosque during prayers, killing scores of worshippers and setting homes ablaze.

In a statement released to the press, TMC lamented what it called a senseless and barbaric act, insisting that such an attack on a sacred place of worship not only offends human conscience but also stands in complete contradiction to the values of Islam, which upholds the sanctity of life and peace.

“The heinous assault on a sacred space is both an affront to humanity and a desecration of Islamic values,” the group stated, adding that no faith or cause justifies the shedding of innocent blood, especially within the walls of a mosque where believers seek communion with their Creator.

TMC, however, commended the swift response of Nigeria’s security forces, particularly for the reported arrest of some key terrorist leaders linked to the violence. The group praised the ongoing efforts of security agencies to dismantle terror networks operating in the region and called for sustained intelligence-led operations to prevent further attacks.

While offering prayers for the victims and their families, the Congress urged both federal and state governments to intensify their commitment to protecting vulnerable communities across the North-West and beyond. They also appealed to religious leaders and traditional rulers to unite in promoting peace, resilience, and communal vigilance against forces threatening national stability.
