Muslim Scholars admonish youths to remember pay back time for their parents

As Ifo Muslim community bid chief Mrs Wosilat Anike Oyekanmi , the iya suna of ifo Land farewell .

Sheikh Abdul Wasiu Odebode , the Mufasir of ifo land has admonished youths to practice Islam to the latter by giving back to their parents at old age, stressing that no amount of care of children could measure up the struggles of their parents at a time the parents becomes dependent on their children.

The cleric also advised women to always speak good of their husbands to the children,urging them to refrain from unleashing punishment on their husbands at Old age .

Imam Salman Ayinla Ajilogbaaso a renowned Muslim preacher in ifo also advocate balance of responsibilities from parents to their children while the children must not forsake their parents no matter their status in the society.

Sheikh Abdul Ganiy Shita also enjoined children to be conscious of Allah in ensuring giving back to their parents especially when they are blessed with money and other material resources which their parents could derive joy being a beneficiary of such blessings.

Imam Monsurudeen Famuyiwa , the chief imam of pakoto land believes that only fear of Allah could make both parents and their children discharge their responsibilities noting that the reward for good parenting begins with adequate support from children at old age which he believes is the best way parents could leave long through children pay back as Allah has commanded the children to beseach Allah for his favor on their parents more than the favor they enjoyed while under their parents watch.

The clerics made the the statements while answering questions from our reporter shortly after the eighth day fidau prayer of chief Mrs Wosilat Anike, the iya suna of ifo land who passed away Friday night 15th August 2025 and was buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday 16th August 2025.

Late chief Mrs Wosilat Oyekanmi was survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the Muslim community.

She will be remembered for her good legacies as a mother and role model in ifo land and environs .
