MUSWEN Unveils Shopping Mall in Ibadan to Boost Community Development

Ibadan, Nigeria | September 15, 2025 — The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has commissioned a modern shopping mall in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of its commitment to community development, economic empowerment, and social investment.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, attracted Muslim leaders, traditional rulers, business stakeholders, and members of the wider community. The project is one of MUSWEN’s landmark initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable growth through self-reliance and investment in commercial infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, MUSWEN’s leadership described the mall as a strategic project that would create employment opportunities, enhance business activities, and serve as a hub for economic interaction in Ibadan and the South West at large. They noted that beyond serving commercial purposes, the mall stands as a testament to the organisation’s vision of uplifting the Muslim community and contributing to national progress.

Dignitaries present commended MUSWEN for its foresight, stressing that religious bodies must also play active roles in driving socio-economic development rather than focusing solely on spiritual growth. They further called on other faith-based organisations to emulate MUSWEN by investing in ventures that empower their members and benefit the wider society.

Community members expressed optimism that the shopping mall would not only boost trade but also provide affordable access to goods and services in a modern and conducive environment.

The event concluded with prayers for the continued progress of MUSWEN and the prosperity of the South West region.
