The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) has called on the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to lift the suspension placed on the licences of some airline pilots, stressing the need for fairness and due process in resolving the matter.
In a statement issued on Saturday, NAAPE emphasised that the prolonged suspension had adversely affected the careers and livelihoods of the affected pilots, while also impacting operational efficiency in the aviation sector. The association urged the NCAA to reconsider its stance and engage in constructive dialogue to address any outstanding regulatory concerns.
NAAPE further highlighted that restoring the licences would not only uphold industrial harmony but also reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to international best practices in civil aviation. The association reaffirmed its readiness to work with the NCAA and other stakeholders to maintain high professional and safety standards in the industry.
