As part of efforts to broaden the strategic outlook and enhance the leadership capacity of senior military officers, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air War College has embarked on a Geo-Strategic World Study Tour to Botswana and Lesotho.
The delegation, comprising top-ranking officers and faculty members of the War College, arrived in the Kingdom of Lesotho on June 2, 2025, where they were received by the Lesotho Defence Force. The tour is aimed at fostering bilateral military relations and providing participants with first-hand insights into regional security dynamics, defence policies, and strategic military operations in Southern Africa.
The visit to Lesotho featured high-level engagements, including courtesy visits, briefings, and facility tours, all geared towards deepening collaboration and mutual understanding between the armed forces of Nigeria and Lesotho. A similar engagement is scheduled in Botswana, where the Nigerian delegation will meet with top military officials and institutions.
The international tour is an integral part of the College’s curriculum, designed to equip officers with the necessary global perspective required for effective leadership in contemporary security environments. It also underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to professional development, knowledge exchange, and strengthening of regional defence partnerships.
The War College study tour continues through the week, with various strategic sessions lined up to further deepen participants’ appreciation of military diplomacy and regional cooperation.
