NAHCON Advance Team Briefed on Key Assignments Ahead of 2025 Hajj Operations

Shortly after their arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the advance team of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) was formally briefed by the Madinah Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulkadir Oloyin, in a strategic meeting aimed at outlining the scope of work ahead of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

The meeting, which convened key committee heads and technical officers, focused on critical operational areas including accommodation, feeding, medical services, transportation, and pilgrims’ general welfare. Alhaji Oloyin, in his address, emphasized the need for early planning, coordination, and professionalism to ensure a seamless experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

“You are the frontline of NAHCON’s operations here in Madinah. The success of the 2025 Hajj rests heavily on the groundwork you lay from this moment forward,” Oloyin stated. He urged committee members to remain diligent, proactive, and transparent in all dealings with service providers and Saudi authorities.

The briefing also touched on inspection protocols for pilgrims’ hotels, verification of food vendors and catering arrangements, setup of temporary clinics, and collaboration with local authorities to address possible logistics challenges. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring that all facilities meet the standards required to guarantee the comfort, health, and safety of pilgrims.

NAHCON officials reiterated the Commission’s commitment to improving the quality of services compared to previous years, aligning with the vision of Chairman/CEO Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, who has prioritized pilgrim welfare and operational excellence in the commission’s current agenda.

The advance team’s briefing marks the first major operational milestone in NAHCON’s 2025 Hajj calendar, with over 95,000 Nigerian pilgrims expected to perform the Hajj this year. The teams deployed in Madinah will later be joined by others in Makkah and Jeddah to ensure full readiness before the arrival of the first batch of pilgrims later this month.

The briefing concluded with prayers for a successful Hajj season and a renewed call for teamwork and discipline as the commission begins what is expected to be one of its most logistically intensive pilgrimages yet.
