NAHCON Opens 2026 Hajj License and Slot Application for Travel Agencies

In preparation for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially announced the commencement of applications for Hajj licenses and operational slots for eligible travel agencies across the country. The commission made this known via an official public notice, signaling the formal kickoff of its regulatory process for private tour operators ahead of next year’s spiritual exercise.

The announcement, issued under the authority of the Presidency through NAHCON, invites all interested and qualified travel agencies to submit their applications through the designated digital portal. A scannable QR code was provided in the announcement for swift access to the online application platform, ensuring a seamless and transparent application process in line with NAHCON’s digital transformation agenda.

This application window is a critical step in the Commission’s broader efforts to ensure that only competent, duly licensed, and compliant agencies are involved in the coordination of Hajj operations. Over the years, NAHCON has emphasized the importance of professionalism, accountability, and adherence to both local and Saudi regulations guiding the Hajj exercise. The licensing process is therefore aimed at maintaining high operational standards, safeguarding pilgrims’ welfare, and eliminating unqualified operators from the system.

Interested agencies are expected to meet all stipulated requirements including corporate registration, financial capability, Hajj experience, and compliance with safety and pilgrims’ welfare guidelines. Only agencies that fulfill NAHCON’s stringent evaluation criteria will be considered for the limited slots available for the 2026 Hajj season.
With preparations already in motion for next year’s pilgrimage, the Commission is urging stakeholders in the Hajj and Umrah sector to act promptly and responsibly by submitting complete and timely applications. The Commission also advised intending applicants to follow NAHCON’s official communication channels to stay updated on deadlines, screening schedules, and further announcements.

This latest move reaffirms NAHCON’s commitment to upholding a transparent and efficient pilgrimage system for Nigerian Muslims, while continuing to strengthen its regulatory framework to reflect global best practices.
