The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully secured an additional 2,800 VIP bed spaces in Tent A at Mina for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage. This was made possible through an agreement with Rawaf Mina, a Saudi-based service provider, aimed at enhancing the accommodation options available to Nigerian pilgrims seeking premium services during the pilgrimage.
Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, the Chairman of NAHCON, announced the development, urging tour operators who had previously expressed interest in securing spaces in Tent A to complete their payments promptly to confirm their allocations. The new arrangement follows a recent Zoom meeting between NAHCON officials and Rawaf Mina, where the details of the expanded accommodation options were finalized.
The newly secured five-storey facility is strategically located just a few meters from the Jamrat and features 23 rooms on the first floor and 30 rooms on the second, third, and fourth floors. This addition is expected to significantly improve the comfort of Nigerian pilgrims during the Hajj, offering them closer access to important religious sites.
Tour operators are advised to finalize the registration process for their pilgrims, as Rawaf Mina plans to issue the NUSUK access cards once all procedures are completed. Additionally, operators whose pilgrims were initially registered under Tent D for administrative purposes but who wished to be placed in Tent A are now required to pay the remaining balance to confirm their allocation. This step will also ensure that the pilgrims’ transportation is re-routed to the appropriate camp in Muna.
This move is part of NAHCON’s ongoing efforts to improve the Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims by addressing previous concerns regarding accommodation and service quality. The Commission continues to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage for all participants in 2025.
