July 11, 2025 | Abuja — The President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, led a heartfelt humanitarian outreach in Abuja, empowering and supporting 1,500 soldiers’ wives and widows of fallen heroes.
With the theme “Sustaining Legacies through Unwavering Commitment to Unity and Service for the Betterment of Humanity,” the event took NAOWA’s mission to the barracks community, offering emotional support, essential food items, and critical health engagement to those affected by military service and sacrifice. The outreach took place at the Army Headquarters in Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, and is part of the organization’s broader steadfast commitment to the welfare of army families.
In her remarks, Mrs. Oluyede emphasised NAOWA’s enduring role in uplifting vulnerable groups—particularly military families—and reaffirmed the strength of solidarity within the barracks. The comprehensive support included food donations, counselling, and community-building activities aimed at fostering unity, resilience, and empowerment among participants.
This outreach continues NAOWA’s long-standing tradition of service, following recent nationwide efforts that distributed food items to over 5,000 widows and soldiers’ wives during periods of economic hardship in 2024.
