Napoli Stands Firm Against Juventus’ Pursuit of Victor Osimhen

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has categorically ruled out the possibility of selling Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Juventus this summer. Despite Juventus’ strong interest in acquiring Osimhen, Napoli remains resolute in its stance, emphasizing that they will not negotiate with their Serie A rivals over the transfer of the talented forward.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future. Juventus, led by recruitment chief Cristiano Giuntoli, who originally signed Osimhen for Napoli in 2020, had been keen on bringing him to Turin. However, Napoli’s refusal to engage in talks with Juventus complicates any potential deal, as Osimhen’s €75 million release clause is only applicable to non-Italian clubs.

In response to Juventus’ failed pursuit, Osimhen has reportedly turned down the opportunity to join the Turin-based club, instead favoring a move to the Premier League. This decision aligns with his ambition to play for one of Europe’s top clubs, potentially in England.

Meanwhile, Juventus has shifted its attention to another Nigerian player, Ademola Lookman, as an alternative target for the summer transfer window. This move underscores Juventus’ determination to revamp their attack, even if it means looking beyond Osimhen.

As the transfer window unfolds, Napoli’s firm stance on Osimhen’s future will likely lead to further negotiations with other interested clubs, potentially setting the stage for a high-profile transfer saga this summer.
