NASFAT LAUNCHES SILWIN: A LIFELINE FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS TO THRIVE –

Lagos, Nigeria – March 20, 2025

In a world where women continue to battle economic and social barriers, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) is stepping up with a bold, life-changing initiative—Silver Lining for Women and Children Support Initiative (SILWIN). This landmark program is designed to empower women and young girls by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and financial support needed to break free from limitations and unlock their full potential.

SILWIN is not just another empowerment program; it is a well-thought-out strategy that addresses the core challenges women face, including financial illiteracy, lack of mentorship, limited access to funding, and inadequate vocational skills. Through this initiative, beneficiaries will gain free vocational training, financial literacy education, startup funding, mentorship, career development programs, and access to business opportunities.

The initiative is championed by Alhaja Ganiyat Omowumi Babalola, NASFAT’s National Women Affairs Secretary, who has dedicated her leadership to ensuring that women and girls have the tools they need to succeed. “SILWIN is designed to uplift women from all walks of life—whether they are stay-at-home mothers, career women, students, or aspiring entrepreneurs. We want every woman and girl to know that there is a silver lining in every situation, and NASFAT is here to help them find it,” she stated.

NASFAT: A 30-Year Commitment to Societal Growth

NASFAT (Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society) is an Islamic organization that, for over 30 years, has gone beyond religious teachings to drive real social change. Known for its focus on education, economic empowerment, and community development, NASFAT continues to expand its reach with initiatives like SILWIN, ensuring that faith-driven solutions translate into real-world impact.

NASFAT’s President, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, described SILWIN as a groundbreaking empowerment model, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to progress. “NASFAT has always been a game changer. We have used Daw’ah (Islamic outreach) not just for spiritual upliftment, but also for economic and social transformation. SILWIN embodies our vision of equipping women and girls with the resources they need to stand tall and thrive,” he said.

Supporting this vision, Chief Missioner, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, emphasized that Islam honors and protects women and children. He noted that education, economic empowerment, and skill development are not just modern ideas but core Islamic values. “Women play an essential role in the stability and prosperity of any society. When you empower a woman, you empower an entire generation. SILWIN will provide women with the tools to build a brighter future for themselves and their families,” he stated.

What Makes SILWIN Different?

SILWIN is not a one-size-fits-all initiative. It has been carefully designed to meet the unique needs of different groups of women and girls, ensuring that every beneficiary receives tailored support. The program will focus on:

✅ Vocational Training: Free hands-on training in high-demand skills to boost employment and entrepreneurship.

✅ Entrepreneurship Support: Business mentorship, startup funding, and access to grants for women looking to start or grow their businesses.

✅ Financial Literacy & Wealth Creation: Teaching women how to manage money, save wisely, invest, and become financially independent.

✅ Scholarships & Career Development: Educational support and mentorship for young girls to excel in school and enter competitive career fields.

✅ Health & Wellness Awareness: Promoting better healthcare, mental wellness, and personal development to ensure overall well-being.

Alhaja Babalola emphasized that SILWIN will extend beyond NASFAT’s immediate community, reaching women across different backgrounds, faiths, and economic levels. “We want every woman and girl, regardless of their circumstances, to know that they are not alone. SILWIN is their silver lining—their chance to rise, to learn, and to lead,” she added.

A Movement for Women, A Legacy for the Future

As the countdown to the launch begins, SILWIN is not just an initiative—it is a movement. A movement that will change lives, open doors, and break barriers for women and girls in Nigeria and beyond. With NASFAT’s unwavering dedication to faith-driven development, SILWIN will inspire a new generation of strong, self-sufficient, and economically independent women.

It is time for women and girls to seize their moment. With SILWIN, the future is bright, the opportunities are endless, and the silver lining is here!
