In a gesture of solidarity and respect, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, recently paid a condolence visit to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State. The visit was in response to the passing of Governor Radda’s mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari. During his visit, Ribadu extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Federal Government and the National Security Council.
Ribadu also took the opportunity to commend the improved security situation in Katsina State, acknowledging the collective efforts of local security agencies and Governor Radda’s leadership in restoring calm across the state.
He emphasized that while complete peace may take time to achieve, the progress made so far is commendable and recognized by the federal government. The NSA reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting ongoing security efforts in Katsina, praising the state’s approach to intelligence-led interventions.
The visit was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Senate Committee on Security Chairman, Senator Shehu Umar Buba, and Retired General Sarkin Yaki Bello. This gesture reflects the federal government’s commitment to fostering unity and cooperation with state governments in addressing security challenges.
In his remarks, Ribadu expressed optimism about the future of Katsina State, stating that the current security situation is markedly better than in previous months. He encouraged continued collaboration between federal and state authorities to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region.
