NDE Commences Registration of Unemployed Youths in Kaduna from July 28 to August 11

Kaduna | July 29, 2025 — The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has announced the commencement of a state-wide registration exercise for unemployed youths in Kaduna, scheduled to run from July 28 to August 11, 2025.

This move is part of the federal government’s renewed efforts to generate accurate data on unemployment and to design effective empowerment initiatives for jobless Nigerians. The registration will be conducted through all 23 local government areas of the state.

State Coordinator of NDE in Kaduna, Sani Maigana, revealed that the exercise will enable the directorate to properly profile unemployed individuals and link them to suitable employment or vocational training programmes. According to him, the exercise is open to youths, women, persons with disabilities, and all other job seekers who are Nigerian citizens residing in the state.

Maigana stated, “The registration will help the federal government identify the nature and extent of unemployment in Kaduna and tailor its interventions more effectively. It is a key step towards tackling youth unemployment and economic idleness.”

He urged all unemployed persons in the state to take advantage of the free registration by visiting their nearest NDE offices or designated registration centres within their local government areas. He also noted that the NDE is working in collaboration with traditional leaders and community-based organizations to ensure widespread awareness and participation.

The registration exercise aligns with the directorate’s broader mandate to combat unemployment through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship training, and job placement services. NDE officials stressed that only registered individuals will be considered for upcoming empowerment schemes and vocational training opportunities.

With youth unemployment remaining a major socio-economic challenge across Nigeria, the Kaduna initiative is seen as a proactive move to bridge data gaps and pave the way for impactful job creation policies.
