NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results for Junior Secondary School Candidates

Minna, July 9, 2025

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), conducted for final-year students in junior secondary schools across Nigeria.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dantani Wushishi, at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State, on Tuesday. The examination, which serves as the qualifying test for admission into senior secondary schools, was conducted nationwide between May and June 2025.

According to the registrar, the results are now available on the Council’s official website, and candidates can access their performance reports using their registration numbers and result-checking tokens. He urged school administrators, parents, and candidates to take advantage of the online platform for seamless access.

Professor Wushishi disclosed that this year’s edition recorded an improvement in both participation and performance rates, with over 1.5 million candidates sitting for the examination across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. He noted that NECO deployed enhanced digital tools to ensure the integrity of the examination and to prevent malpractice.

The registrar added that NECO remains committed to promoting quality assessment standards and upholding transparency in all its examinations. He commended teachers, education stakeholders, and security agencies for their cooperation and support throughout the conduct of the 2025 BECE.

As the results go live, successful candidates are expected to proceed with the admission process into senior secondary schools and technical colleges in line with existing state and federal government education guidelines.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, promising to continue refining its processes in line with global best practices in educational assessment.
