The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Ahmed, has paid a humanitarian visit to Kebbi State to deliver essential relief materials to victims of recent disasters in the state.
The visit, which took place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting communities affected by natural and man-made disasters across the country. The NEMA boss was received by top state government officials and traditional leaders who commended the agency for its swift intervention.
During the presentation ceremony, Mustapha Ahmed reaffirmed NEMA’s mandate to promptly respond to emergencies and alleviate the suffering of affected citizens. He noted that the materials being distributed were tailored to meet the immediate needs of the victims and would help cushion the impact of their losses.
The relief items included food supplies such as rice, maize, beans, and vegetable oil, as well as non-food items like mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking utensils, and building materials for temporary shelter.
Addressing beneficiaries, the NEMA DG urged the community members to cooperate with local authorities and disaster response agencies to enhance early warning systems and disaster preparedness.
Kebbi State government officials expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the timely assistance. They pledged to ensure fair distribution of the materials and called for more federal support to strengthen disaster resilience in the state.
The visit also included an assessment tour of the most affected areas to guide future intervention plans.
