Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged a decisive and unrelenting response as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to spiral, following a wave of military strikes and counterattacks that have left dozens dead and heightened fears of a broader regional war.
In a televised address late Saturday, Netanyahu described Iran’s recent missile barrage as an “act of aggression” and warned that Israel would “act with full force to protect its citizens and sovereignty.”
The escalating conflict began after Iranian forces launched coordinated missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli strategic assets. Israel responded with a series of airstrikes, including reported hits on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz, which Iranian officials claim resulted in significant damage.
International actors, including the United Nations, United States, and European Union, have called for restraint and immediate de-escalation, warning that further hostilities could destabilize the Middle East.
Meanwhile, both Iranian and Israeli civilians have borne the brunt of the fighting, with reports of casualties on both sides and heightened military alerts across the region.
Diplomatic backchannels are reportedly active, but observers warn the conflict may widen unless both nations agree to an immediate ceasefire.
