The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of the renewable energy sector in the country by streamlining trade processes and fostering an enabling environment for clean energy investments.
This pledge was made during a recent high-level engagement between officials of the Customs Service and key stakeholders in the renewable energy industry. The meeting focused on identifying bottlenecks affecting the importation and local production of solar panels, batteries, inverters, and other critical green energy components.
According to NCS representatives, the service is reviewing tariff policies, exploring duty waivers, and enhancing port clearance procedures to ease the movement of renewable energy equipment into Nigeria.
