The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has held a valedictory session in honour of Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) MC Dike, who formally bowed out of service after a distinguished career marked by dedication, professionalism, and meritorious service to the nation.
The ceremony, which took place at the NIS Headquarters in Abuja, drew top officers from across directorates, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers who gathered to pay tribute to a man widely respected for his unwavering commitment to national duty and institutional growth.
DCG Dike, who served in several strategic capacities during his time in the Service, was praised for his leadership, integrity, and contributions to the modernization of Nigeria’s border management systems. In his most recent role before retirement, he was instrumental in strengthening the operational efficiency of the Service through strategic reforms and mentoring of younger officers.
Speaking at the event, the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, described the retired DCG as a “pillar of professionalism” and “a role model whose footprints in the Service will remain indelible.” She commended his decades of sacrifice and selfless service, which she said significantly enhanced the image and performance of the Nigeria Immigration Service both at home and abroad.
In his response, the visibly moved MC Dike expressed gratitude to God, the leadership of the Service, and his colleagues for the support he received throughout his career. He urged serving officers to uphold the values of discipline, patriotism, and excellence, and to continue striving for a more efficient and people-centred immigration system.
The event featured goodwill messages, presentation of gifts, and a ceremonial parade in honour of the retiring officer. It was a celebration not only of a successful career, but of a life dedicated to nation-building through unwavering public service.
As DCG Dike transitions into retirement, his legacy of diligence, loyalty, and transformative leadership remains etched in the annals of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
