Nigeria Sends 28-Man Delegation to Portugal for 16th World Scout Moot

July 22, 2025

Nigeria will proudly participate in the upcoming 16th World Scout Moot, with a 28-member contingent set to represent the country at the international youth gathering in Portugal. The event is scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 3, 2025.

The World Scout Moot is a prestigious global forum that brings together thousands of young adults aged 18 to 25 from different countries, aiming to promote leadership, cultural exchange, and community development under the umbrella of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

Nigeria’s delegation is expected to join participants from over 80 nations for 10 days of adventure, learning, and collaboration on issues such as global peace, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment.

According to organizers, the event will include workshops, outdoor expeditions, cultural showcases, and dialogue sessions—all designed to build international understanding and inspire youth-led impact projects back in their home countries.

The Nigerian Scouts Association expressed confidence that the nation’s representatives will showcase discipline, creativity, and the values of responsible citizenship. The group will also use the opportunity to network with peers and promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage on a global stage.

The 16th World Scout Moot marks yet another milestone in Nigeria’s active participation in the global scouting movement and its commitment to youth development and global cooperation.
