Students of Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) have brought pride to the nation after securing top honours at a recent continental academic competition, further affirming the school’s reputation for excellence in science and innovation.
The students distinguished themselves at the Pan-African Mathematics and Science Olympiad held in Kigali, Rwanda, where they competed against peers from across the continent. Representing Nigeria in various categories, the NTIC students won multiple medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, in both individual and team events.
NTIC management, while announcing the achievement, attributed the outstanding performance to the school’s rigorous academic standards and its commitment to nurturing gifted learners. “We are proud of our students for their brilliant showing at the Olympiad. Their success underscores the power of discipline, mentorship, and world-class teaching,” a school spokesperson said.
The Federal Ministry of Education has also congratulated the students for their achievement, describing it as a reflection of the quality of education being offered by select private institutions in Nigeria. Officials commended the school for its consistency in representing the country and called on other institutions to emulate NTIC’s model in preparing students for international relevance.
Parents, education stakeholders, and alumni have lauded the students’ efforts, noting that such feats not only elevate Nigeria’s image abroad but also inspire other young learners to pursue excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The NTIC students are expected to return to the country later this week, where a reception is being planned to honour their achievement and inspire others in the academic community.
