Nigeria’s star female goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has officially signed with Brighton & Hove Albion Women’s Football Club, marking a significant transfer ahead of the 2025–26 Women’s Super League season.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper joins Brighton from French side Paris FC, where she spent five seasons and earned widespread acclaim. During her time there, Nnadozie was twice named D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Season (2023, 2024) and helped the team reach the Coupe de France final in 2025 .
Nnadozie’s outstanding performances also earned her recognition on the continental stage, including back-to-back CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year awards in 2023 and 2024 . Known for her remarkable penalty-saving record—including seven in European competitions last season—she brings elite shot-stopping skills to her new club .
Brighton officially announced her transfer on June 27, 2025, stating that Nnadozie will join the squad beginning July 1, upon the opening of the WSL registration period . The move is expected to enhance Brighton’s goalkeeping quality and provide Nnadozie with a platform in one of Europe’s most competitive women’s leagues.
In her first message as a Brighton player, Nnadozie expressed excitement about the new challenge: “I’m looking forward to working with the team, pushing myself further, and contributing to Brighton’s ambitions in the WSL.”
The WSL season kicks off later this summer, and fans will be eagerly anticipating her debut as she looks to establish herself among the league’s elite goalkeepers.
