The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, recently hosted a delegation from the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, in a move to bolster collaboration ahead of the second edition of the Africa Space Economy Conference.
The meeting provided a strategic platform to deepen dialogue on leveraging Africa’s burgeoning space economy to foster national and continental development.
Representing the DG, Dr. Dimie Wariowei, Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy at NITDA, reiterated the agency’s commitment to exploring innovative partnerships that will unlock the numerous benefits of the space sector. He emphasized the sector’s vast potential in accelerating socio-economic growth, driving technological innovation, and supporting sustainable development across the continent.
The upcoming conference, themed “Space Economy and Emerging Markets in Africa,” is expected to convene leading scientists, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to examine expanding opportunities in Africa’s space sector. It aims to catalyze investments, facilitate knowledge exchange, and shape progressive policies for space technology adoption.
The partnership between NITDA and ACCI is expected to play a pivotal role in mobilizing resources and attention towards Africa’s strategic participation in the global space economy.
