The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has welcomed 400-level students from Newgate University, Minna, Niger State, on an educational excursion to its Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit, held as part of the students’ academic exposure and industry experience, was aimed at deepening their understanding of digital policy, innovation, and the practical applications of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in national development.
Speaking during the interactive session, NITDA Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by a senior official, encouraged the students to embrace the opportunities in Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem. He highlighted the agency’s efforts in driving digital inclusion, fostering innovation hubs, and supporting young tech talents across the country.
The students were given a tour of NITDA’s key departments and briefed on ongoing programmes such as the Nigeria Startup Act implementation, digital literacy initiatives, and cybersecurity awareness campaigns.
Representatives of Newgate University expressed appreciation for the warm reception and insightful engagement, noting that the visit provided real-world context to their classroom learning.
The excursion concluded with a group photograph and presentation of NITDA resource materials to the visiting students.
